UMass Memorial LifeFlight - Critical Care Transport
UMass Memorial LifeFlight is New England's oldest critical care transport service, founded in 1982 at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester, MA. Program direction, medical direction, communications services, and clinical staffing is provided by the UMass Memorial Medical Center, the region's only ACS-verified Level I trauma center and the only tertiary care referral center in Central Massachusetts. The helicopter is operated by Air Methods Corporation of Englewood, CO (www.airmethods.com), a leader in emergency air medical transportation and medical services and a "Partner of Choice" for aviation operations.
UMass Memorial LifeFlight is a hospital based critical care transport program, providing air medical transport service to several throughout Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut, New York and Vermont. The LifeFlight crew consists of a Flight Nurse, Critical Care Paramedic and a Pilot. In addition our aircraft has a team of certified mechanics assigned to it to provide 24/7 maintenance. UMass Memorial LifeFlight is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS), representing on the highest standards in safety, clinical practice, quality assurance and training.
